"Those who can't, teach" goes the old saying. But a great teacher, in fact, is someone who absolutely can. Take Ryan Luchuck, a young man who has performed over 700 solo and band shows in the last 6 years, toured Canada and plays over 10 instruments well and is also one of Canada's busiest vocal instructors. Seth Riggs (the most successful voice teacher of all time) calls Ryan "a superb vocal technique instructor". He currently works with over 70 students weekly from his home studio in Toronto while maintaining an active career in music performance and production.
Ryan Luchuck has been singing professionally since the age of 12. Like many singers, he became frustrated with what he couldn't do with his voice. He had very little range and power but lots of tension. He started to lose his voice frequently and nearly gave up on singing. After many frustrating years of searching for a logical and effective vocal technique, Ryan discovered "Speech Level Singing".
Developed by legendary vocal instructor Seth Riggs, this technique can be applied to any style and allows the singer to develop incredible range and power without strain. A dream come true for Ryan.
Since no one in Canada could teach it at the time, Ryan began traveling to California every 3-4 months to take singing lessons. He has studied with Dave Stroud (creator of the Speech Level Singing Certification Program and CEO of SLS International, www.davestroud.com) since 1997 and also extensively with Seth Riggs himself (www.sethriggs.com) . The result is that Ryan no longer loses his voice and sings with a range and ability far beyond his natural gift.
After many years of study, teaching was the next logical step. Ryan began informally working with friends and family and found he had a knack for it. He opened his own vocal studio in Toronto, "Own Your Voice", and was soon teaching full time.
In 2006, Ryan became the 3rd person ever in Canada to be a Certified SLS Instructor. He continues to travel to California 5-6 times yearly to study with top vocal experts worldwide. In 2008, Ryan was named to the EAG (Educational Advisor Group) of Speech Level Singing Intl. where he is responsible for guiding the education of numerous voice teachers throughout Northeastern US and Eastern Canada.
Ryan's students range from major label signed professionals to beginners, all enjoying the immense benefits of an extremely effective vocal technique combined with world class instruction.
